Our itinerary connects two historical and old capital cities, Lhasa in Tibet and Kathmandu in Nepal which begins in Lhasa and ends in Kathmandu.

As we drive across the Tibetan plateau, you will be expertly guided around all the Tibetan monasteries, palaces, temples, monuments and significant tourist sites by our expert local Tibetan guide. In Lhasa visit the famous Potala Palace, Sera, Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka palace, Jokhang Temple and walk amongst the crowded local market - the bustling Barkhor Bazaar.
Leaving Lhasa on a Land Cruiser, you will be driven past picturesque Tibetan settlements where nomadic herdsmen can be seen wandering across the wide arid plateau. This adventure overland tour takes you over numerous high mountain passes with glorious mountain views, including those of the majestic Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu and Shishapangma- the highest mountain in Tibet. Your overland tour continues to the historic cities of Gyantse and Shigatse. As you discover the ancient monasteries, forts and citadels you get an insight into the rich Tibetan culture and history. As you leave Zanghmu and cross the Friendship Bridge, enter Nepal where you meet your Nepalese escort and drive to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrive Lhasa airport or train station:
Your adventure trip starts with your arrival in Lhasa. You can have two options to arrive Lhasa. One is via Nepal and another via mainland China. If you choose to fly from Ktm to Lhasa you will have 1 hour 10 minutes Trans-Himalayan flight. If you are coming via mainland China, you might fly from any major cities or take the world’s highest train route to reach Lhasa. You will be greeted by your Tibetan guide once you arrive in Gonggar airport or train station then transfer to lhasa city. It is advisable to rest and take it easy for the remainder of the day due to Lhasa's altitude. Overnight in hotel.
Day 02-03: In Lhasa:
Two Full Days Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa, Visit Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery – Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Lhasa - Gyantse (3,950m); 261km:
Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Kora LA (5,010m) & Kamba La (4,794m) – Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Gyantse - Xigatse (3,900m): 90km:
In the morning, Sight-seeing in Gyantse including Pholkor & Kumbum Monastery. Afternoon: scenic drive to Xigatse(1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan Countryside – Overnight at Hotel.
Day 06: Shigatse - Xegar (4050m): 270km:
In the morning, Visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Afternoon: Drive to Xegar crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m) – Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07: Xegar - Zhangmu (2300m) 181km:
Further drove to Zhangmu by over-crossing the high pass of Lalulang La (5,050m) from where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. Xishapagma (8,212m) & Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m) and have overnight at Hotel.
Day 08: Zhangmu - Kathmandu: 155km/123km:
Drive to Border. After necessary border formalities continue scenic drive to Kathmandu through the green lush countryside- transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotel. Please remember us for Nepal and Bhutan Travel packages as well.
Note:If you wish to join your trip in Kathmandu you have to arrive 2 days prior to trip departure dates (But you need to provide us copy of your passport at least 25 days before the trip departure). Or if you wish to start in Lhasa, you can arrive Lhasa on the date mentioned above or earlier.

Visa Fees & Entry Procedure
Via Kathmandu, Nepal
Trip commence from Kathmandu to Tibet, we organize a group visa and in order to do this we will need a copy of your passport at least 25 days prior to the commencement of your trip. Tourism regulations in Tibet are subject to change without prior notice. As per current regulation Chinese Embassy issues visa on Monday, Wed and Fri (9am – 11am) in Kathmandu. Hence, we will need your original passport 1 day before the visa processing day.
Via mainland China
Those entering Tibet from mainland China (Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian, Guilin etc) have to get Chinese visa from their home town (please email us and ask for the best way of doing it).
If you wish to fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, you need to fly with Air china ( only one air line flying from Kathmandu to Lhasa) and cost you please kindly ask with us since Air china often change its fares. We can make a flight ticket for you from Beijing to Lhasa and Chengdu to Lhasa as well.
You can take a train journey from any parts of Mainland china to Lhasa. Let us know from which city you want to come to Lhasa by train then we will provide you train fare with all necessary details. Contact us for more info on train.
