About Kanchenjunga Trek
Kanchenjunga (8598m) is the world’s third highest mountain located in the remote and far eastern part of Nepal. Kanchenjunga is one of the most isolated and difficult region of the entire Himalayas and was first climbed by a British group in 1956 AD in this sensitive restricted area. Here you can suffer a tough challenge, and reap the rewards!
Kanchenjunga trek, which takes you throughout dotted settlements of thatched farmhouses with vibrant flower gardens, wild coniferous forest and on to isolated Buddhist settlements where people grazing a live from the barren land. The highlight of Kanchenjunga trek in both altitude and scenic majesty is certainly the three days trek to the Kanchenjunga glacier where the views are quite simply awe-inspiring.
Kanchenjunga trip begins with a trek over the Mahabharat Lekh range with magnificent views of both the Kanchenjunga and Mt Everest massifs with the Arun Valley between them. We trek through splendidly cultured hillsides, Rhododendron jungles and yak grazing lands that lye underneath the glacier. The return path bearing west passes through some amazing villages of Taplejung. The panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, Everest and Makalu are superb on our descent to the road head.
